St. Nicholas of Myra ‘appears’ at Ferndale

Posted on 12 December 2008
Amid much excitement at the Mums and Tots 'end of term' Christmas Party, St. Nicholas (aka Father Christmas) arrived to distribute presents to the children attending.

Tragically, intern Jon Delves, who has met at least two bishops and two archbishops during his three months at Ferndale, missed the opportunity to meet a saint. Despite every effort to find him, he disappeared shortly before Nicholas’ arrival and only reappeared shortly after we had waved goodbye.

Later, Gold Club had their Christmas Party and were able to celebrate Lisa Battey’s eighty seventh birthday.

A Ferndale ‘trio’ provided suitable festive accompaniment. All in all, a busy day ot celebrate and retell the story of the birth of the Son of God.

Looks like he’s had a new suit since last year.  And he’s looking a bit on the skinny side…

What do you mean? Jon has opportunities to meet saints all the time! Saint Sheila, Saint June, Saint Roger, Saint Sarah, Saint Chris, Saint Ron, Saint Jane, Saint Robin, Saint….....

Please note, only one of the music group has a halo.

Hmmmmm… just debating with myself whether or not John is the most saintly of the music group. Hmmmmm…... Doesn’t quite seem likely but then again….
