Glad Tidings We Bring
Activities commenced with members circulating almost 2000 copies of the newspaper ‘Ferndale Focus’ to local homes. This included local news and features as well as a challenge by Stephen to be ready, like the shepherds of old, to hear the message of the angels.
A well-attended Christmas Dinner for members and friends was followed by an equally well-supported Carols by Candelight and a presentation of the Nativity by the younger members of the Church. Cluny Carols was, once again, organised by the Church and local community members and was well attended with over 200 attending to hear Fr. James McCluskey from St. Luke’s remind those present of the ‘real meaning’ of Christmas. Mince pies and mulled wine followed… thanks to Waitrose and local helpers. Oh! and B & Q provided a tree!
Christmas Eve saw a happy crowd of worshippers gather at midnight and welcome the Christ child … and, around the Lord’s Table, to remind one another that he came to be our Saviour. Together with Gareth’s Audio Advent Calendar… a Christmas morning celebration concluded a tiring but rewarding series of opportunities to make known the ‘Glad Tidings’ of the Saviour.
