A new and exciting challenge
Posted on 13 February 2008
Confirmation was received over the last couple of days that funding is available to the Ferndale St Luke's Community Association Ltd to 'rescue' Yum Yum's in Cluny Square for the community.
The shop has been a major element in the renewal of St. Luke’s Ward and when it was known that the present lesees needed to withdraw from the business, the local churches (in consultation with the community) proposed that the shop be re-opened and the business developed to serve those who live in the Cluny Square area.
Stephen, who has been actively involved in leading the steps to keep the cafe open , comments ‘With funding confirmed the first steps can be taken to re-launch the business and to use the premises as a centre for ongoing community meeting and renewal.’
Commenting is not available in this weblog entry.
