A Capital Task

London City Missionaries Neil Kinghorn and Dominic Squibb visited Ferndale yesterday.

Neil, chaplain to the Ambulance Service in the city kept a congregation, swelled by members of the Girls Brigade, very interested as he illustrated his demanding work of supporting those in a highly stressful job, by means of some of the items of clothing he wears.

Dominic (pictured above with members of the congregation), spoke of his ministry as evangelist attached to the St Giles Centre, an FIEC congregation in Islington. He movingly told stories of the effect of door-to-door ministry and spoke honestly about the difficulties of a ministry often undertaken alone, without thanks and out of the ‘public’ eye. Stephen was particularly pleased to welcome Dominic, one fo his former students. He commented: ‘It is always an enormous privilege to meet former students since it is one of the Lord’s ways of encouraging me to see the way he hands on the baton of ministry from one generation to the next!‘
